The lyrics celebrated the end of the Vietnam War.

It is the first single on which Michael’s voice could be heard to be breaking (puberty).

It sold a disappointing 250,000 copies in the US, achieving no.10 on the R&B singles chart and no.28 on the Hot 100. It charted at no.20 in the UK.
