Michael Jackson – Girl You’re So Together

*Produced by Freddie Perren and Fonce Mizell
*Composed by Keni Lewi

Michael originally recorded this on 31st August 1973 – the same day he recorded Don’t Let It Get You Down and Farewell My Summer Love.

It remained unreleased until an updated version featured on Michael’s solo album, Farewell My Summer Love, issued in May 1984 in the US and June 1984 in the UK.

It was the second and last single lifted from that album in many countries (but not USA), where it charted at no.33. It was on the B-side of Touch The One You Love in the US.

The original recording is now available on Hello World (The Motown Solo Collection)

Girl You’re So Together – Lyrics

Girl, you’re so together
Together we can make it
All the way
If I had a chance to choose
Between a million folks and you
I’d choose you babe
There’s no tree that bears fruit
As sweet as you, no
Apples, peaches and cherries just won’t do
Ooh, baby
Even a thousand lollipops could never hope
To top the sweetness of your kiss
Can you dig

Girl, you’re so together
And together we can make it
All the way
If I had a chance to choose
Between a million folks and you
I’d choose you babe
Girl, your smile is like the month of May
When you’re near me
The storm clouds stay away
Even the little honey bees turn to you
When they need more honey
Love you so much
It’s not funny

Girl, you’re so together
And together we can make it
All the way
Oh, girl, you’re so together

Oh, hey girl, girl, eye, eye popper
A real-life traffic stopper
A knockout queen
Oh, what I mean is
Girl, you’re so together
And together we can make it all the way
I love you, babe
