Michael recorded this for his debut album, Got To Be There, issued in January 1972 in the US and May 1972 in the UK.

It was not intended to be released as a single, until DJs across the States started playing it - prompting Motown to issue it as the follow-up to Got To Be There.

It charted at no.2 on both American charts, and just one place lower in the UK.
