For their Epic label debut, the Jacksons (featuring youngest brother Randy Jackson) teamed up with Philadelphia producers Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff, as well as their staff of writers and players.
These two producers and song writers had perfectly captured the true feeling of Jackson brothers and pushed them over their limits especially for Michael with his newfound vocal inflections.
These two albums (The Jacksons and Goin' Places) capture the roots of disco sound with pretty melodies and improve the great vocals of Michael. This period marks the writing debut of the group and is a great match between artists and producers.
The Gamble/Huff team regenerated their enthusiasm and spirit for several years and brought them fresh material and new production ideas, as well as better tracks and arrangements than they'd gotten in quite a while on Motown.
These albums got them R&B and pop hits and kept the family act in the spotlight for always.
