This song Michael cited (at his copyright hearing in 1994) he had written.

Originally recorded by Michael's sister Rebbie, for her 1998 album, Yours Faithfully, with Michael co-producing (with StoneBridge and Nick Nice) and singing backing vocals.

"That's simply a beautiful song," said Rebbie, speaking about Fly Away. "After Michael wrote it, he said he could hear me singing it. It's about not wanting to lose a relationship".

Michael's own version of the song was finally heard in October 2001, when it was one of the bonus tracks added to the expanded, special edition reissue of his album Bad. Rebbie's version, compared to this version, has extra backing vocals by Michael.
