"Leave Me Alone" was the eighth single to be released from Michael Jackson's 1987 album Bad. It only appeared on the CD versions of the album and was not issued as a single in the United States. The song was also featured as a segment in Jackson's 1988 fantasy movie Moonwalker. The song was re-released on April 17, 2006 as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles set. It charted at #15 in the UK and #68 in Australia.
"I worked hard on the song, stacking vocals on top of each other like layers of clouds," said Michael. "I'm sending a simple message here: Leave me alone! The song is about a relationship between a guy and a girl, but what I'm really saying to people who are bothering me is: Leave me alone!"
The music video which won the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video in 1990. The video also featured in Moonwalker. In essence, the video is a surreal collage of stylistically crude images based around Jackson's successful career since 1982's Thriller. Consistent with the song's lyrical content, there is an emphasis on the tabloid view of Jackson's personal life and public image, referring to the nickname "Wacko Jacko" given to him by the press, and the various headlines associated with him in the 1980s. Controversially acknowledging the rumours that he had attempted to purchase the bones of the "Elephant Man", Jackson dances with stop-motion "Elephant Man" bones in the video. This particular segment (without the image of the bones) was used for the single's cover art.

Leave Me Alone - Lyrics
I Don't Care What You Talkin'
'Bout Baby
I Don't Care What You Say
Don't You Come Walkin'
Beggin' Back Mama
I Don't Care Anyway
Time After Time I Gave You All Of My Money
No Excuses To Make
Ain't No Mountain That I
Can't Climb Baby
All Is Going My Way
('Cause There's A Time When
You're Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby, Don't
You Know
(And There's The Choice That
We Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby
So Just Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone-Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
(Just Stop Doggin' Me)
There Was A Time I Used To
Say Girl I Need You
But Who Is Sorry Now
You Really Hurt, You Used To
Take And Deceive Me
Now Who Is Sorry Now
You Got A Way Of Making Me
Feel So Sorry
I Found Out Right Away
Don't You Come Walkin'-
Beggin' I Ain't Lovin' You
Don't You Get In My Way
'Cause
(There's A Time When You're
Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby-Don't
You Know?
(And There's The Choice That
We Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby?
So Just Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
(Just Stop Doggin' Me)
('Cause There's A Time When
You're Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby, Don't
You Know, Girl
(It's The Choice That We
Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby
So Just Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone-Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
