B-side of Let Me Carry Your Schoolbooks, a single issued by SteelTown Records in the States in 1971, credited to ‘The Ripples & Waves + Michael’ – a name the Jackson 5 reputedly used in the early days.
Nearly 20 years later Gordon Keith, founder and owner of Steel-Town Records, stated: ‘The fine vocals were provided by another Gary, Indiana talent, Michael Rodgers’ – not Michael Jackson.
Both songs featured on the Jackson 5 album, PRE-HISTORY – THE LOST STEELTOWN RECORDINGS, released in the States in June 1996 (no UK release).
The sleeve notes implied, without actually saying, the Jackson 5 and the Ripples & Waves + Michael were one and the same group.
