Written and recorded by Michael for his album, HIStory, released in June 1995.

Michael cited he had written 'Little Suzy' in his court disposition in November 1993 - this may or may not be the same song Michael later titled 'Little Susie'.

It is one of five songs hand-written by Michael circa 1979 - lyrics included in a personal notebook, with young actor Mark Lester on the cover, that formed part of a 10,000+ piece collection of Jackson memorabilia purchased by Universal Express and some of its entertainment partners, in November 2006.

Little Susie - Lyrics

Somebody killed Little Susie
The girl with the tune
Who sings in the daytime at noon
She was there screaming
Beating her voice in her doom
But nobody came to her soon

A fall down the stairs
Her dress torn
Oh, the blood in her hair
A mystery so sullen in air
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
Oh, the blood in her hair

Everyone came to see
The girl that now is dead
So blind stare the eyes in her head
And suddenly a voice from the crowd said
This girl lived in vain
Her face bear such agony, such strain

But only the man from next door
Knew Little Susie, now he cried
As he reached down
To close Susie's eyes
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
Oh, the blood in her hair

It was all for God’s sake
For her singing the tune
For someone to feel her dispair
To be damned to know hoping is dead
And you’re doomed
Then to scream out
And nobody’s there

She knew no one cared

Father left home
Poor mother died
Leaving Susie alone
Grandfather’s soul too had flown
No one to care
Just to love her
How much can one bear
Neglecting the needs in her prayers

Neglection can kill
Like a knife in your soul
Oh, it will
Little Susie fought so hard to live
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
So young and so fair

Poor Susie...
I think that Mike's fave name is Susie. He always mentions this name - Blood on the dance floor, Superfly Sister... Why is it so? Anybody knows?

^ it's been debated for a long time now. no one really knows about michael's use of the name Susie. he hasn't clarified it himself either. it could be he just likes to use it randomly...

What a track, this song plays like a video in my mind. Should of been a single. Its like MJ's version of the Beatles Elenor Rigby. Such fantastical song it could feature in a Tim Burton movie. Dark fairytale.

The melody, the lyrics and MJ's voice are incredible. I especially love this lines : "It was all for god sake, for her singing the tune, for someone to feel her..." You just want to have done something for this poor little girl.

made me weep each time i listen to this.
a song that transports me to another world.
A world where War, injustice seems to be a routine.
A little girl merely humming the tune, and had gone to meet Maker.
Michael was not only the King Of Pop, he was the King of Emotions.

Suzy represents destruction for him in some way. I think Michael felt like he was Suzie == his career, his childhood, murdered, slandered, killed in all the ways that he mentiones whenever Suzy is in a song. Especially here -- the child with the tune who sings at noon thas' him - he began singing in childhood with a tune and was murdered senselessly in the same way == blood on the dancefloor, blood in her hair... He was crying out his own painful story but no one came soon. He was abandoned.. no one to love or protect him or her--the paralells are remarkable.

"Little Susie" is certainly NOT written by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons and the music is NOT composed by Charles Chaplin!!! This applies to the song "Smile"!
MJ is the writer of "Little Susie" and will ever be!

I really love that song, the beginning of it makes me think of a carousel, and the voice of the little girl singing gives the real profundity to the song. You just can't stop thinking that she's real. Michael was a real magician. He knows exactly the words to use and the way to sing them. He's a genuis.
Miss you so much...
